#Interior has suspended a #legal opinion that held companies liable for killing #ducks, #cranes, #pelicans, #owls & HUNDREDS of other #birds.

In a memo dated Feb 28…, Interior’s acting chief atty suspended EVERY legal opinion issued by the #Biden admin, including one that subjected companies to penalties for killing birds through activities such as #oil & #gas #drilling, wind #energy production, #mining or #construction.

As we talk about energy, we need to talk about a decrease in *overall* energy use—especially as so-called AI is a topic of conversation. Moving to renewables alone will not cut it. We also CANNOT afford to count on technology that might, eventually exist (e.g. meaningful carbon capture with some device or facility).

The time to take real action for ourselves was yesterday. Let’s push for it now

As the FT points out, its all very well saying you're going to ease planning restrictions for new building projects and claiming to bring stability to the construction sector after years of varying policy, but if you (Labour) don't do something about the training & education of construction workers, then such efforts will come to little.

Further education, where such training takes place, has been the subject of austerity & constraints for years; now is the time to value it!

My friend @Dicksondavid in #PortHarcourt #Nigeria is #LookingForWork - he has worked before in #foodservice and has skills as a #barber and interest in #CivilEngineering / #construction

If anyone from the area knows of opportunities (including assistance for interview travel expenses) and/or can advise how a young man in this can get genuine work (he has had previous issues with unpaid wages and paying for travel only to find there are 0 vacancies) it will be much appreciated..
