Charlie McHenry<p>A forgotten leftover of a brief spell of US colonialism, uncovered while decluttering my home office of decades. This bit of Filipino history is likely from my late father’s travels during the years he was a businessman focused on Pacific Rim countries. A ‘five centavo’ coin, unique because of its history, and the use of both Spanish (Centavo) and English on the coin, and the short period of time this kind of currency was actually in circulation on the Islands. I think it is a cool thing, so I thought I’d share. Who knows what we may find next 😎 (I should explain that my father had me at 65, which explains how he could have been traveling Australasia in 1945.) <a href="https://connectop.us/tags/Filipino" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Filipino</span></a> <a href="https://connectop.us/tags/philippines" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>philippines</span></a> <a href="https://connectop.us/tags/coins" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>coins</span></a> <a href="https://connectop.us/tags/Filipinas" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Filipinas</span></a> <a href="https://connectop.us/tags/Numismatics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Numismatics</span></a> <a href="https://connectop.us/tags/Colonialism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Colonialism</span></a> <a href="https://connectop.us/tags/Colonisation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Colonisation</span></a> <a href="https://connectop.us/tags/History" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>History</span></a> <a href="https://connectop.us/tags/CoolCoin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CoolCoin</span></a></p>

Bibliolater 📚📜🖋<p>🔴 **Comparative Hellenistic and Roman Manuscript Studies (CHRoMS): Script Interactions and Hebrew/Aramaic Writing Culture**</p><p>_"In this comparative study, I argue that Egyptian and Judean Hebrew/Aramaic scripts from 400 BCE–400 CE were heavily influenced by Greek and later Latin writing cultures, which explains many previously inexplicable phenomena. Jewish writers in the third century BCE adopted the Greek split-nibbed reed pen, which dramatically changed the appearance of Hebrew/Aramaic scripts. At the same time, the normal size for Hebrew/ Aramaic scripts shrank considerably, the pen strokes became mostly monotone and unshaded, and the scripts became more rectilinear, angular, bilinear, and square."_</p><p>Longacre, Drew. daleveni<p>Enabling Act 1933<br>Ermächtigungsgesetz), Gesetz zur Behebung der Not von Volk und Reich (lit. 'Law to Remedy the Distress of People and Reich'), was a law that gave the German Cabinet – most importantly, the Chancellor – the power to make and enforce laws without the involvement of the Reichstag or Weimar President Paul von Hindenburg, leading to the rise of Nazi Germany. The Enabling Act allowed the Chancellor to bypass the system of checks and balances in the government. -Wikipedia<br><a href="https://masto.ai/tags/history" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>history</span></a></p>
